About 36 Oils
One of our primary goals at THE OIL JAR is to demystify essential oils. We want more people to understand how and why they work so that more people can use them—correctly, confidently and successfully—to improve their health and wellness. In this blog, 36 OILS, we will focus on one essential oil per blog entry, with the format remaining pretty much the same. Here’s how it will look:
We’ll start with the basics about a particular oil—where it comes from, what the plant looks like, etc.—and we’ll share a piece of our personal experience with that oil.
Then we’ll start to get more scientific on you but do not be alarmed. It’s really cool to learn what is happening below the surface and to understand the “why” behind the oil’s qualities.
Next, we’ll share the recent research that has been done, so you know what’s out there. As can be expected, most of the research done on aromatherapy and essential oils involves small studies.
Safety is of the utmost importance to us, so we’ll be sure to give you all the information you need to make informed decisions about appropriate application methods, avoiding any potential negative side effects.
Then we’ll give you a “recipe” or two so that you can begin appropriating that oil for your own use.
And, because we are nerds about all of this, we’ll probably have footnotes with the works we have cited and with further reading options for you. Yes, we take this seriously. This is your wellness after all.
