Promote Well-Being

The many properties of oils have been known for centuries. Greek physician Dioscorides wrote about them as long ago as 60 A.D. Today, research has proven the impact of aroma on the brain and body, helping aromatherapy gain legitimacy as tool for physical and psychological well-being. Aromatherapy can now be found in settings as diverse as hospital emergency rooms, dental offices, and, of course, spas. We’re always learning about how aromatherapy promotes well-being, but we believe it has stood the test of time because it works.

Quality and Education

As aromatherapy continues to gain attention, it can be challenging to distinguish high-quality oils from those that are of lesser quality or even toxic.  With THE OIL JAR, you can trust that all oil products have been screened for purity using the same quality and safety standards used in medical settings. We are passionate about offering only certified organic, ethically farmed or wildcrafted essential oils. And we want to empower you with the knowledge of how to use them. Blaire Morriss

founder and certified aromatherapist

Aromatherapy has been my passion for over 20 years, so fresh out of college, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I completed 440 hours of training to become a certified aromatherapist and opened my own private practice.

Since then, my career has expanded in ways I never imaged possible. I love to learn about health and well-being and have continued my education. I have earned a Master’s degree in a health-related field and received an additional aromatherapy certification, the Certified Clinical Aromatherapy Professional. I also completed Duke’s Health Coaching Certificate Program, trained in clinical herbalism and nutrition and have taught at various institutions including UCSF, Vanderbilt, and Duke.

At the heart of it all is my passion for aromatherapy and its role in well-being. As a clinical aromatherapist—a fully trained Aromatic Apothecary—I do what I love most. I meet with clients, assess needs and create custom essential oil blends. I get to mix and smell, test and revise like a chemist at work in the lab — or a chef in the kitchen— until I get it just right. And then comes the best part…I get to share it with you!

I believe in the power of essential oils and I look forward to sharing THE OIL JAR with you.
