November’s Oil

Palmarosa (Cymbopogan martinii var. martinii ) is a tropical grass that produces a sweet + refreshing scented essential oil. Traditionally Palmarosa has been used in aromatherapy as an antiseptic, antifungal, skin balancer + immune stimulant (think winter boost). It is a gentle oil making it suitable for diffusing in kids' sick rooms. Emotionally it is thought to relieve anger + grief- and blends beautifully with Rose + Rose Geranium.

WINTER HEART OPENER RECIPE

  • Add 2 drops Palmarosa + 2 drops Rose Geranium to diffuser

  • Diffuse for 30 minutes on + every 2 hours or as needed

November's Herb

Astragalus root (Astragalus membranaceus) is a traditional chinese herb that has been used for centuries as a support to the immune system. It is thought to be an adaptogen that is sweet and slightly warming making it perfect for these cold, soon to be winter days. Traditionally used to improve stamina, combat stress + boost immunity. I use astragalus root when making stocks and soups during the winter months to add a bit more nourishment and protection.
